On a stellar April Sunday, nearly 200 guests attended Stratford Hall’s Annual Oyster Roast & Auction, led by the Northern Neck Friends of Stratford Committee. The event, on the grounds of Stratford Hall Historic Preserve, home of the Lee family, featured local oysters from Bevans Oyster Company and wine from Ingleside Vineyards. This year’s live auction included an extraordinary culinary experience in Stratford Hall’s 18th-century historic kitchen with chef and baker Justin Cherry, a luxury getaway to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, fine jewels, and a Tiffany Yacht charter excursion. The silent auction showcased dozens of creatively curated packages. More than $105,000 was raised to support education, preservation, and interpretation at Stratford Hall, which included $18,000 from Raise the Paddle to specifically support internship and fellowship programs.
