WMATA’s Plans Bring Hope for Easier Commutes

Commuters rejoice! Good news abounds for Northern Virginians who utilize the DC Metro. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has plans to improve the stations and train lines throughout the area in 2025. Those tired of the wait times and crowds on the Blue Line between the Pentagon and Rosslyn stations in particular will be especially victorious, with WMATA proposing two solutions to improve commuter flow. Metro is considering adding a second Rosslyn Metro station or simply another Orange and Blue Line connection point, either option hopefully resulting in room for 4,000 more Blue Line passengers in Virginia. The Vienna Metro station in Fairfax will also see improvements, with expanded mezzanines, vertical circulation, and fare gates set to be added by the end of 2025. WMATA.com
