Want to see your favorite Broadway shows without the hassle and expense of traveling to the Big Apple? You’re in luck: Broadway in Richmond has been bringing hit performances from the world’s most fabled theatrical district to the capital’s historic Altria Theater since 2009—and the effort has been an overwhelming success.
Strong ticket sales and over-the-top appreciation from theatergoers have made the city a beloved stop for producers, marketing firms, and cast members, says Broadway in Richmond spokesperson, Cindy Creasy. “The feedback is incredible… we constantly hear from the cast how wonderful and responsive our audiences are.”
This year’s six-show season has featured favorites like Disney’s Frozen, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, Six, and all-time best-selling classic To Kill a Mockingbird. Beetlejuice the Musical runs June 4-9. The 2024-25 season, which begins in late October, will include Shucked, Mamma Mia!, MJ the Musical, and Some Like it Hot. BroadwayInRichmond.com
