Inside David Baldacci’s Newest Thriller, Nash Falls

What happens when a man is stripped of everything—career, family, reputation, and life as he knows it? Best-selling author and Virginian David Baldacci explores this question in his latest thriller, Nash Falls.

In the November 2025 release, readers meet Walter Nash, a fair-minded family man with innate intelligence and a high-level position at Sybaric Investments. When the FBI suddenly tasks him with becoming the inside man to expose an international money-laundering scheme within Sybaric, Nash finds himself at the crossroads of survival and revenge.

The book explores complex family dynamics between Nash and his father and daughter.

“Family is the most dramatic, complicated thing we have,” Baldacci says. “I raised two kids—now grown—and those relationships inevitably influence what I write. Fiction lets me explore questions I still ask myself: ‘Did I do the right things? Was I there enough?’”

Throughout the book, Baldacci finds the perfect balance between keeping the reader engaged and not giving too much away. “Readers think two bodies in a house means one killer. Not necessarily. I misdirect and layer red herrings until the truth hits hard at the end,” Baldacci says. “It’s a delicate game, but I love it.”

It’s a story only the Richmond native (and current NoVa resident) could write, keeping readers turning pages late into the night. DavidBaldacci.com
