May 10, 2014 • Breaux Vineyards, Purcellville
It’s not surprising that proximity to an international airport was a deciding factor as Casey Crowe and Richard Taylor planned their May 2014 wedding. After all, they had met and spent much of their courtship abroad. New Jersey native Casey met the Australian-born Richard in Paris when both were college students visiting family in the French capital. After six years of continent-hopping together, a proposal came on a Christmas Eve at Casey’s home in New Jersey. For their wedding, Casey and Richard wanted an elegant vineyard with European style. Starting in New York and working their way south, they researched wineries and selected Breaux Vineyards in Purcellville. “It felt secluded, intimate and elegant,” says Casey. The Virginia vineyard also evoked memories of Australia’s Hunter Valley wine region, a favorite of the well-traveled couple. Adding to the worldly flair, the groom chose kilts for him and his groomsmen; he wore his grandfather’s tartan. The bride dressed her hair with her favorite red flowers. “I knew I wanted the flowers to feel wild, loose and textured,” she says. Click here for more weddings.
