Thinking about running your first (or second or third or even twelfth) long race this fall? Running experts say you should give yourself about 12 weeks to train for a half-marathon (a little less time for a 10-miler, a little more for a full marathon), so if you’ve had your eye on a 13.1 but haven’t pulled the trigger yet, now’s the time to sign up and start preparing for the fall race season. And whether you’re looking for a 10-miler, half, full marathon or triathlon, and whether you prefer pounding pavement, winding through trails or trekking up and down mountains, Virginia has a race just for you.
