At Bank Street Books it’s easy to lose your sense of time and space while browsing the aisles at Luray’s best-sorted book store. For nearly two decades, this charming little space has been the go-to dealer for new and used books as well as gifts, arts and crafts.
Located on Vienna’s revitalized Church Street, Bards Alley offers books with a side of craft beer, wine or locally-sourced cheese, bread, soup and charcuterie.This cozy store carries more than 5,000 titles and hosts author readings and book signings, book clubs and children’s story time, poetry and writers’ workshops.
From new and like-new best sellers to hot releases and classics, when it comes to good reading, then Book No Further. This Roanoke shop also carries a good number of works by local authors as well as books about or set in the Roanoke and New River Valley.
For more than 15 years, Chop Suey Books has been a Richmond staple for bibliophiles. The quirky store got its name from a now closed Chinese restaurant on Cary Street, where owner Ward Tefft set up shop to buy used books, trade them for store credit and, since 2014, publish new works.
