Red Wing Roots Festival, Mount Solon, July 11-13
Beards, flannels and fiddles abound at the Red Wings Roots Festival, the brainchild of Harrisonburg American roots band The Steel Wheels. For five days, 80 acres of the Blue Ridge Parkway host the epic FloydFest, which this year welcomes Ben Harper and Charlie Musslewhite, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Thievery Corporation and others to its three stages. Verizon Wireless American Music Festival, Virginia Beach, August 29-31
