Let Them Eat Cake

So says Keya Wingfield, proprietress of Richmond-based Candy Valley Cake Company, founded in 2010. Last year—between September and December alone—Wingfield says she sold more than 20,000 of her new “perfectly portioned” Cake Pops, finely detailed treats that come (you guessed it) on a stick. Flavors include My Little Buttercup, a combination of vanilla cake and chopped peanut butter cups dipped in chocolate, and The Frou Frou, a decadent mouthful of chocolate brownie cheesecake. Find these delectables online and at a handful of area stores for now, but we feel certain Cake Pops will soon be, well, popping up all over. CandyValleyCakeCompany.com
