Chrysler Museum Honors

Major donor fête celebrates benefactors.

On Sept. 13, the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk hosted its annual major donors dinner. Museum director Erik Neil and his wife, artist Luisa Adelfio, welcomed the event’s more than 320 guests after a cocktail hour in the Susan and David Goode Wing. The black-tie evening included dinner and a presentation by Neil focusing on the Chrysler’s prominence within the international museum community. Neil highlighted the success of the museum’s international loan program, noting a loan from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris of one of Claude Monet’s Haystacks currently on display through Jan. 8. Johannes Vermeer’s A Lady Writing, on loan from the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.,  is also currently being exhibited. It will be on view until Dec. 18. Chrysler.org
