Tucked into the Allegheny Mountains, Garth Newel Music Center offers a summer experience where world-class music and natural beauty meet. The 2026 Summer Season, running June 20 through September 6, invites audiences to gather for eleven weekends and twenty concerts that celebrate artistry, connection, and discovery.
At the heart of the season is the resident Garth Newel Piano Quartet, anchoring a vibrant series that features internationally recognized guest artists and ensembles. The summer opens with GRAMMY® Award-winning pianist Michelle Cann and culminates in a powerful finale with GRAMMY® Award-winning mezzo-soprano Kelley O’Connor and pianist Robert Spano. Along the way, audiences will experience an extraordinary range of musicians, including violinist Aisslinn Nosky, concertmaster of the Handel and Haydn Society; violist ContDana Kelley of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra; Canadian violinist Violaine Melançon of Schulich School of Music; the celebrated Pacifica Quartet and Attacca Quartet; violinist Jennifer Frautschi; and the Mid-Atlantic’s high-energy swing band Good Shot Judy.
Beyond the stage, the experience at Garth Newel is immersive and inviting. Guests enjoy chef-curated meals, sweeping mountain views, and an atmosphere that encourages both reflection and celebration. Garth Newel Fellowship Artists also play an important role in the season, highlighting the next generation of musical talent and culminating in special finale performances on August 1 and 2. For those wishing to extend their stay, on-site lodging is available both during concert weekends and year-round, offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of the mountains.
Together, these elements create more than a concert series—they shape a summer tradition defined by exceptional music, shared moments, and a setting unlike any other.
