Wedding Content Creators are the New Trend

Newly engaged? Cue the social posts! After telling loved ones the good news, most couples can’t wait to brief everyone via social media. And while you may be recording meaningful moments throughout the planning process—like your mom tearing up as you try on gowns—your wedding day is a time to leave the documentation to someone else: a wedding content creator.

According to Faith West, owner of Lynchburg’s Content Creation by Faith, in addition to knowing the nuances of TikTok and Instagram, a wedding content creator shoots behind-the-scenes content, capturing the big day in a nontraditional way.

Although they both document your day, there are differences between a wedding content creator and other professionals with lenses. “While photographers and videographers focus on posed moments, we focus on capturing the raw, candid experiences of the couple’s day,” adds Ashley Foster of HoneyDo Socials in Alexandria.

West also notes that content creators capture short bursts of content—typically using a smartphone—that couples can edit and post how they see fit. Hiring a pro also lets couples relax. Karina Kemp of the Virginia Beach branch of HoneyDo Socials adds, “Instead of asking a bridesmaid or family member to grab iPhone footage, we take care of it all, allowing everyone to be fully present.”
