Get a Lift

Trends and classic procedures face off in cosmetic surgery.

The list of cosmetic options is larger now than it ever was.

The more technology advances, the more options there are to lift, nip, and tuck. Luckily, recent advances in cosmetic surgery promise easy procedures and quick recovery times.

While injectable fillers like Botox or Juvéderm are noninvasive, surgery is still popular among clients. “This year, surgical facial rejuvenation like eyelid surgery, facelifts, and rhinoplasty are huge in the practice,” says Callie O’Connell from the Austin-Weston Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Reston. “Most of our patients are wanting to reset the clock and get back their old bodies and faces.”

To shed fat, clients turn to other nonsurgical options like SculpSure, CoolSculpt, and EmSculpt. At Cosmetic Dermatology Center in McLean, Dr. Nicole Hayre’s office was the first in the U.S. to receive the EmTone cellulite treatment, the first and only device to treat all factors contributing to cellulite.

With newer technology, recovery time keeps decreasing. “People really desire minimal down time,” says Dr. Michael J. Brown from The Loudoun Center for Plastic Surgery. “We offer treatments using the latest state of the art equipment and laser technologies that are the most effective options available.”
