On Sept. 23, 2016, the Dooley Noted Society hosted the 2016 Beer and Wine Classic at Maymont. The Dooley Noted Society operates as the young professionals group within the Maymont Foundation and hosts multiple events each year, including banquets, wine tastings, themed parties, fundraisers, and community outreach. More than 500 supporters attended the Beer and Wine Classic this year, raising $12,000 to benefit the Maymont Foundation. Maymont.org
Guests were invited to try unlimited samples of Virginia wine and beer and enjoyed an evening of yard games and music by Richmond Bluegrass band, Jackass Flats. Food was provided by Slideways Mobile Bistro and Continental Divide. Participating breweries included Buskey Cider, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, and Strangeways Brewing.
