Cherry Lemonade

5 cups water

1/2 cup sugar

16 ounces cherries, pitted

1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 9 lemons)

2 tablespoons Grenadine

Combine water, sugar and cherries in a large saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 3 minutes. Pour into a bowl; chill at least 1 hour or until cold.

Strain mixture through a sieve into a pitcher; discard cherries. Stir in lemon juice and Grenadine. Serve over ice.

Note: Also makes a delicious hard cherry lemonade.

Add vodka to taste.
