Richmond – 61st Annual Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball
Country Club of Virginia
Themed “Some Enchanted Evening,” this long-standing annual gala lit up the Country Club of Virginia on Nov. 1, 2024. Hosted by the Junior Board of Children’s Hospital Foundation and presented by Davenport & Company and Trailer Recycling Services, the glamorous night, featured cocktails, dinner, dancing, and their usual Jewels for Children raffle, showcasing jewelry donated by Richmond’s fine jewelers. Musical-themed décor transformed seven distinct rooms, calling to mind songs beloved by those young and old. The event raised over $500,000 to benefit the art and music therapy program at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
Proceeds will expand access to creative therapies with the potential to profoundly alter patient experiences—from helping children express emotions, managing pain, and finding joy in the hospital environment. “As a former music and choir teacher myself, I have seen the transformative power of the arts,” says Junior Board President Lauren Neal. “Knowing that we were fundraising to provide more staffing for this vital therapy pushed us to plan a perfect evening.”
