Richmond’s first contemporary art fair is the product of a collaboration between Candela Books + Gallery, ADA Gallery, Glave Kocen Gallery, Page Bond Gallery, Reynolds Gallery, Quirk and 1708 Gallery. The fair will be held at the Hohman Design studio at 3409 W. Leigh St. in Scott’s Addition.
“For years the galleries that are exhibiting at CURRENT have brought exciting and thoughtful exhibitions to our city,” says CURRENT Art Fair board member, local art collector and philanthropist Pam Royall. “Here is a chance for Richmonders to view the work represented by all of our top galleries in one place. CURRENT is an outward expression of the exciting energy we have behind new ideas and projects within the arts community in Richmond.”
A unique opportunity for the seasoned art collector, the fair is designed too for the novice with prices for work covering a wide range. Nationally and internationally acclaimed artists will provide work for the fair, plus locals like painters Ed Trask and Brooke Inman.
The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 with a preview reception, which will include music, drinks and a photo booth. Tickets to the reception are $50 per person, and admission to the fair Friday-Sunday is free. CURRENTRichmond.com
