December 2014 Issue

The December 2014 issue of Virginia Living kicks off the holidays with verve! We perfect the art of the cocktail party with 16 recipes for food and drink that put a modern twist on traditional seasonal offerings. Plus, we explore imperial treasures in the VMFA’s landmark exhibit, “Forbidden City: Imperial Treasures from the Palace Museum, Beijing.” We celebrate ingenuity and craftsmanship in style, home, food, drink and sport throughout the Commonwealth with our third annual Made in Virginia awards, and in travel, we journey to Florence, Italy, for a sartorially-inspired visit to the birthplace of the Italian fashion industry. We celebrate a Richmond institution (and home to the best boxed lunches ever) Sally Bell’s Kitchen, explore a stunning Carter’s Creek retreat, take a look at the increasingly creeping-forward Christmas season, visit trapeze school and more. Also in this issue is our special bound-in supplement, Hospitals & Healthcare 2014, which takes a look at the most recent medical news, capital improvements and breakthrough procedures from top healthcare providers around the state.
