Loudoun County’s equine community finds sanctuary

Loudoun County is prime horse country. Middleburg especially is teeming with equines and their riding companions. Foxrock Stables and the Salamander Resort’s Equestrian Center draw horse lovers of all experience levels from both near and far, while the annual Middleburg Spring Races are a premier destination for witnessing thoroughbred athletics.

With all these horses and people who love them dearly, Middleburg has an obvious need for an equine-specific medical facility. That is exactly what W.H. McCormick, VMD, noticed in the ‘70s. He founded a veterinary hospital that grew into the Middleburg Equine Clinic, which now houses two efficient 16’ x 16’ exam rooms, radiology, and standing procedure rooms. This is vet care on another level in both size and services, with three well-ventilated, radiant-heated holding stalls and a recovery room, laboratory, and laundry, ensuring that the pampered horses of horse country are well cared for.
