From books to blood pressure: Norfolk’s library kiosk revolutionizes access to telemedicine
In Norfolk, there’s no need to traipse into an office or clinic to see a health care provider. Here, telehealth is gaining popularity, where patients can see their providers through online video chats rather than visiting a clinic. And thanks to Norfolk Public Library’s new program, one doesn’t even need to own a computer to utilize this service. Last December, the library organization launched a teleservices kiosk at its Jordan-Newby Anchor Branch at Broad Creek location. Equipped with library card-activated cameras, blood pressure cuffs, scales, and temperature sensors, the kiosk makes this accessible health care trend even more accessible. NorfolkPublicLibrary.org
