The Bay School Community Arts Center to Host Upcycled Fashion Show
The Bay School Community Arts Center, located at 279 Main Street in Mathews will host an Upcycled Fashion Show in its Art Speaks Gallery on Saturday, February 22, 6:30-8:30 pm. Tickets are $10/person at the door and all proceeds from the event and sale of the fashions will go to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The Upcycled Fashion Show is the brainchild of Pamela Manz, a local artist who recently lost her father to leukemia and came up with the idea for this event as an inspired way to honor those who lost their battle with cancer, celebrate the survivors, and inspire hope in those currently struggling with the disease. Pam takes secondhand women’s clothing and artfully redesigns them into one-of-a-kind fashions with creative twists. The upcycled wardrobe pieces will be snipped, stitched, gathered, painted, and paired to suit the style of the models, all of whom have had cancer impact their lives.
