Make your own evergreen wreath for the holidays in a make-and-take workshop at Maymont, with guidance from Maymont staff, plus refreshments!

Join us the first three weekends in December for Del Ray Artisans’ 29th Annual Holiday Market at Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia 22301. Market hours are Fridays 6-9pm and Saturdays 9am-5pm & Sundays 11am-5pm. The market is free to browse, open to the public, and different artists featured each weekend!

  Shekinah and Cantore (women’s and men’s vocal groups) warmly invite you to their annual Christmas coffeehouse concert with refreshments and festive music at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7, at Park View Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg. Admission is by donation; proceeds will benefit New Bridges Immigrant Resource Center.

German holiday traditions were brought to the American colonies by immigrants throughout the 18th century. Some have faded from memory, while others, like spice cookies, have remained popular. Visit our German farm to learn about some German holiday superstitions and decorate your own ‘cookie’ ornament to take home. 

Maymont makes the holidays bright with Merry Market, featuring 75+ local artisans, Saint Nicholas, a holiday train ride, food and more, Dec. 7-8, 12 – 5pm.
