Curious about the seemingly abandoned buildings on the Workhouse campus? Ever wondered what they were used for when this site was a functioning prison? Now’s your chance to find out!
Join Museum Coordinator Jay Loy for an exclusive walking tour of our historic campus. Jay will share fascinating insights about the prison’s history and the important role these buildings played. The tour starts and ends at the Lorton Prison Museum, and afterward, you’re invited to explore the museum’s exhibitions (open late during Second Saturday Open House & Art Walk).
Tour Details:
Cost: $10/person ($5/youth 12 and under)
Payment: Onsite, no registration required
Location: Meet at the Lucy Burns Museum entrance
Distance: Approximately half a mile (paved surfaces, leisurely pace)
Weather:
Tours happen rain or shine—please dress appropriately and wear sturdy, close-toed shoes.
