Genealogy Workshop (Virtual) | Newspaper Research

From birth, graduation and marriage announcements to general articles and obituaries, newspapers offer a rich supply of material for genealogical research. In this workshop, discover how to access and use the Library of Virginia’s broad array of digital newspaper resources including Virginia Chronicle, Chronicling America, ProQuest collections, America’s News and Newspapers.com. You’ll also learn how to search the Library’s original and microfilmed newspaper collections, as well as collections of other large libraries throughout the Commonwealth. No experience necessary.
