Fourth at the Fort

A family-friendly event, Fourth at the Fort will feature exciting opportunities for youth to express their patriotism through hands-on, interactive programs. Along with fireworks and a craft fair, highlights include: Voices of Tomorrow: The Society of Junior Patriots – Kids ages 8–12 can join Nation Builder James Madison in drafting their own household Bill of Rights during sessions on the Expressions of Freedom Stage. Expressions of Freedom Student Competition – Winning entries from students across the state will be on display throughout the day, showcasing how young Virginians interpret freedom through personal and historical lenses. America250 Birthday Quilt Project – Youth and families can contribute quilt panels as part of a nationwide commemorative project to handcraft a powerful tribute to America. VA250 Mobile Museum Experience – Enjoy this immersive museum on wheels offering visitors the opportunity to explore the true meaning of E Pluribus Unum – Out of Many, One.
