Bingo for Quilts

The Tavern Quilt Guild at Rice’s Hotel / Hughlett’s Tavern in Heathsville is excited to once again hold their popular “Bingo for Quilts” on Saturday, August 16th, immediately following the Heathsville Farmers Market. The bingo event starts at 1:30 p.m., inside the Tavern Meeting Building, which is located behind the Tavern. Players may buy packets of 15 bingo sheets plus four special games for $30, and enjoy the excitement of an old-fashioned game of bingo. All prizes are quilted items made by guild members. Bingo players are invited to come early to enjoy the Heathsville Farmers Market and lunch at the Tavern Café. The Heathsville Farmers Market offers Northern Neck produce and meat, bread and baked goods, gourmet peanuts and honey, locally-made artisan handcrafts, and more. There are new vendors at every market. The August Farmers Market also includes an antique and classic car show. Members of the Northern Neck Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Northern Neck Corvette Club will be cruising in. Private individuals are also welcome to display their vehicle. The public is invited to vote for their favorite car. The Farmers Market operates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; the car show runs until 11 a.m. Historic Rice’s Hotel / Hughlett’s Tavern, a non-profit run entirely by volunteers, is located at 73 Monument Place, hidden just off Route 360 behind the old Northumberland Courthouse.
