The Virginia Zoo in Norfolk hosts annual Breakfast with the Animals event.
On Aug. 11, visitors to the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk will have the rare opportunity to enjoy Breakfast with the Animals, a once-yearly event. Previously a members-only event, Breakfast with the Animals is now open to the public and provides adults and children the chance to nibble breakfast sandwiches, pastries, fresh fruit and cereals while observing the morning feeding routine for more than 20 animals, including the red pandas, giraffes, meerkats, cheetahs, moon bears, rhinos and tigers.
Zoo volunteers and animal ambassadors will be on hand to provide trail tours and answer questions about the animals’ diets and behaviors. The zoo train and bounce house will also be open. 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. Tickets from $15. VirginiaZoo.org
