NoVa apparel company hits the Oscars.
Bored Rebel, the buzzy apparel company out of NoVa, hit the big time for the second year, thanks to a unique formula that transforms everyday essentials into canvases of creativity and comfort. Their Graphic Undershirts were featured in the King of all Swag Bags at this year’s Oscars, where A-listers like Emily Blunt, Bradley Cooper, Robert Downey Jr., and Robert De Niro were each gifted a Bored Rebel t-shirt with a custom design tailored specifically for them.
Founder and CEO Stacy Flax explains that the unisex tees feature distinctive vertical text down the center of the shirt. “It was the most fun task to come up with a unique shirt for each Oscar nominee,” she says. “Some of them referenced the film for which they were nominated.” Ryan Gosling’s featured “It’s a pink world and I’m just in it,” a nod to his epic performance as Ken in Barbie. Graphic Undershirts are available to regular folk, too, with sassy phrases like “I hear you. I’m just ignoring you” and “Champagne will fix it.”
Bored Rebel’s big score at the Academy Awards along with their recently announced launch with Nordstrom equals a tsunami of good fortune. “It’s hard for small companies to get the word out about all the cool things we’re doing,” says a thrilled Flax. “Our goal of disrupting the arguably dull men’s undershirt market is well on its way!” BoredRebel.com
