Botanical Garden of the Piedmont Spring Festival

Join us for a fun-filled day at the Garden, where nature meets adventure! Enjoy a variety of engaging activities that will delight all ages. This event is free and open to the public, but please register in advance to help us prepare enough supplies for everyone. *Please note, the Spring Festival 2025 schedule may be subject to change and thunder and lightning cancels all events at the Garden. Don’t miss out on a day of fun and exploration! 9:00am-10:00am Story and Stretch with Regina Anderson | Ages 4-7 Enjoy an interactive storytime with movement in nature. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket. Regina Anderson, a lifelong educator, is a certified RYT200 yoga instructor trained at Salute the Sun Yoga. 9:30am-10:30am Wildflower and Photography Walk | Ages 12 & Up Join Virginia Master Naturalist John Holden for a wildflower walk over gentle terrain. You’ll learn to identify Virginia wildflowers in a variety of ways. Award-winning photographer Jeannie Holden will offer tips for capturing beautiful flower photos. Cameras are recommended for this wildflower walk. Space is limited to 16 Participants. 9:30am-1:30pm Garden Craft Activity | All Ages No Registration Required Create a colorful nature, inspired greeting card utilizing recycled materials. 9:30am-1:30pm Explore to Read | All Ages No Registration Required Explore the garden trails while discovering enlarged storybook pages. 10:00am-10:45am Turtle Time | All Ages Join us to learn about turtles from turtle enthusiast Jennifer Bryerton. Jennifer and a turtle friend will be at the Garden to meet and greet all turtle fans and answer simple questions about turtle life. 11:00am-12:00pm Music in the Garden – Felicity Ensemble | All Ages Introducing Music in the Garden! The Garden has received a generous grant to feature classical music in the Garden for a series of six performances. Each concert will feature a different group highlighting a variety of instruments and musical arrangements. Enjoy this free outdoor concert and bring chairs or blankets as seating is limited in our mini amphitheater. If it rains, the performance will take place under the tent. 12:00pm-12:45pm Instrument Petting Zoo with Front Porch | All Ages Enjoy a classical music performance then explore instruments with Front Porch. Hear how instruments work, meet them up close and personal and even play some music with this interactive musical experience. 12:00pm-2:00pm Caricatures with Robin Hoffman | All Ages Sign-up on Site Talented local artist Robin Hoffman offers a fun caricature experience for festival visitors of all ages. Space is limited, sign-up when you check-in at the Garden registration table. 1:00pm-2:00pm Yoga | Adult Caitlin Pitts hosts a well-rounded, adult yoga class meant to stretch and strengthen the entire body. We will move at a relaxed pace that allows you to take your time and let go of rushing. A wonderful physical practice and a mental stress relief. All levels are welcomed, with the ability to get up off the ground and spend some time on hands and knees. Be prepared to bring your own yoga mat to this free yoga session.
